Sound sessions in Denver.

I'm Daniel, also known as Firstwater. I make music for a living, and I bring the same ear to these nights: seventy-five minutes of engineered sound and guided rest, opened and closed with ceremony, each one built around something worth putting down.

The sessions that we hold at Firstwater in Denver gather people from all walks of life and states into a place of gratitude, stillness, and joy. Each ceremony uses expert facilitation, healing sound, and sometimes movement and exercises to provide an opening that didn't exist before you got there. Come exactly as you please. This is a place where you can lay down things that don't serve you, or leave a completely different person.

I mix the sound from the floor, lying where you will lie, with the low end placed for the chest.

What a night is

    Arrival

    You come in to low light and lie down, and the mats and blankets are already there.

  2. 2

    The hour

    The sound is strong enough to feel in your chest and soft enough to rest inside, there is real silence partway through, and if I offer an invitation you hear about it beforehand, and it is optional.

    After

    Afterward there is tea near the door, and you stay awhile or slip out as you please.

Wear something soft. The mats and blankets are already there, so you come as you are.
